python-extractor software package provides extracts meta-data from files of arbitrary type (Python bindings), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-extractor
python-extractor is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-extractor package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-extractor *
You will get with python-extractor package name, version, architecture and description in a table
